Why UFC 273 is April’s Must Watch Event: Card Info, Promo Video, Start Times, How to Watch
2022 has served the combative sports community with several memorable Mixed Martial Arts events under the banners of the top promotions in the world. These events have resulted in jaw-dropping bouts that have left fight fans itching for more. On the 9th of April, that trend continues with UFC 273 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, and we at AllTheBelts are here to outline some of the matches that make this event one of the most highly anticipated pay-per-views of the year.
Featherweight Championship Main Event: Alexander Volkanovski vs. “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung
At 23–1, Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski will look to maintain his featherweight championship status and continue his unbeaten streak with the UFC, as he squares off with “The Korean Zombie”. Preceding this title defense, he went toe-to-toe with Max Holloway on two separate occasions, coming out on top both times. Looking to pull off the upset versus the dominant champion, Chan Sung Jung (17–6) was last seen back in June when he defeated a different dominant featherweight in Dan Ige, at UFC Vegas 29. Since his UFC debut in 2011, “The Korean Zombie” has gained an almost cult like following due to his constant forward pressure, highlight worthy submissions, and his ability to eat hard shots as he closes the distance. Regardless of whose camp you are in, this matchup has all the ingredients for a wildly memorable 145-pound main event.
